In 1996 Tammy and Peter married at Mbweni Ruins Hotel. They chose to have the Registrar come out from the Stone Town and conduct the ceremony in the central courtyard of the ruins. The guests were seated on chairs around and three of the guests who were musicians sat high up in the ruins and played accompaniment. Afterwards there was a champagne reception above the swimming pool. Later in the evening there was a dinner in the main restaurant, overlooking the Indian Ocean.
A band was brought from the Stone Town and the guests danced till the early hours.
