TRAVEL ADVICE

International Flights into Tanzania

Many Airlines fly regularly into Zanzibar, including Air Tanzania, and KLM (together with Kenya Airways). Air LAM flies from Pemba.

Italy, Spain and Switzerland have charter flights directly to Zanzibar. There are particularly frequent rapid direct flights from Italy, both from Milan Malpensa and from Rome Fiumicino. Both these airports are well connected to other cities in Europe by charter and scheduled airlines and may offer a viable alternative to scheduled flights with stop overs.

Dar es Salaam Airport (Dar es Salaam International Ariport, or DIA) is also served by Air India, Air Malawi, Air Tanzania, British Airways, Emirates Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Gulf Air, Kenya Airways, Oman Air, South African Airways, ATC, Swiss International Airlines (via Nairobi), and Yemen Air

Domestic Flights in Tanzania and Zanzibar

There are links from mainland Tanzania to Zanzibar by plane and boat. We recommend foreign visitors to travel to Zanzibar by air, as this is both fast and efficient
and more reliable than ferries, which can be cancelled due to bad weather. Flights take approximately 20 minutes from Dar es Salaam and cost USD 55 per person each way.

The airstrips you will need for our properties are:

Selous: Mtemere Airstrip for Selous Impala Camp
Siwandu Airstrip for Lake Manze Camp

Ruaha: Msembe Airstrip for Mdonya Old River Camp

Zanzibar: Zanzibar International Airport for Mbweni Ruins Hotel

Coastal Aviation is based in Dar es Salaam and has a fleet of light aircraft which can take you all over Tanzania. They have a large schedule of flights, some of which connect well with the Adventure Camps properties:
Zanzibar Dar Zanzibar daily at least 4 times
Dar Selous Dar daily
Dar Selous Ruaha Arusha daily
