There are many things to do at Mbweni. The advantage of being on the beach but close to the Stone Town, is that you can take any of Zanzibar's exciting trips from here and return to peace and tranquillity in the evening. |

You can go for a short trip in a local dugout outrigger - known as "ngalawa" in Swahili.Mbarawa,our beach attendant, will take you out for a spin as part of our free activities. |

![]() It is very pleasant to swim among the mangroves, but we also have two canoes or kayaks, and at high tide our guests use them to navigate along the shore to the south, among the mangroves with their channels. |

You can swim or snorkel from our beach or in the clear blue pool. From Mbweni itself we also organise our own trips: to the sandbanks opposite the hotel, where you can swim and snorkel on pristine beaches. Our staff will set up a shade and prepare a delicious barbecue lunch. We have a nature trail around the grounds or you can go canoeing in the mangrove glades just to the south. |

![]() The boats for Chumbe island leave and return to and from our beach. The Stone Town is a ten-minute drive away, and we have our free shuttle service several times a day. Or we can easily call a taxi for you if you prefer to come and go independently. |

We can arrange tours and trips for you from the hotel at reasonable prices. There are many things to see and do in Stone Town, visit the museums or the market, visit some of the fabulous shops. |
